Making space during trying to conceive

A small plan for support and boundaries.

At a glance

A small plan for support and boundaries.

01

Choose what to share

Trying to conceive can put dates and decisions at the centre of everyday life. You can choose how much you track and how much you tell other people. A simple boundary might be: “We will share news when we are ready.”

02

Ask for the support you want

Write down which kinds of support help: company on a walk, help arranging an appointment, or being listened to without suggestions. Share this with someone you trust if you want to.

03

Leave room for everyday life

Leave room for things that are not about trying to conceive. Plan one ordinary activity you enjoy this week. If you want medical advice, bring your questions and relevant history to your clinician; a predicted fertile window cannot promise an outcome.

This article offers general information. A clinician can advise on your individual circumstances.
