Name the tasks that would help
After birth, small practical tasks can take a lot of energy. Write down what would help today: bringing a meal, washing clothes, taking a delivery or sitting with you for company.
Set boundaries around visits
Choose the help you actually want, and say how long a visit should be. You can change your mind. A shared list can make it easier for trusted people to help without asking you to manage every detail.
Make space for your recovery
Keep space for your own recovery questions as well as baby care. If you are worried about physical symptoms or your mood, contact your maternity team, health visitor or GP. Practical support and professional care can work alongside each other.
